Analog or digital force torque sensor?

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

We can think of many advantages a digital force torque sensor has compared to an analog sensor.

Most important advantages are:

  • Low and predictable noise levels

  • Ready to use data

  • Temperature drift can be compensated

  • Harness and wiring minimization

  • No signal aliasing. Either it works or it doesn't.

Although a digital force torque sensor may come with many benefits, it is difficult to manufacture a reliable sensor with embedded electronics when the environmental conditions are extreme. Extreme temperatures, pressure or radiation requires precise manufacturing which Bota Systems sensors offer.
